A heavy wig, a leopard print dress, rudraksh accessories and a rubber snake wrapped around him takes actor Mohit Rain a good one hr 15 minutes in the makeup room every time he don avatar of Lord Shiva. "Earlier it used to take two hours. But now with practice, the time span has reduced," informs the actor. "It's quite a cumbersome task. At times we shoot for 12 to 15 hours, so wearing the heavy wig for such a long time is tiring. I was aware before taking up the role that I will have to put in extra efforts when it comes to dressing as I'm portraying a mythological character. But the positive response of the audience has boost my morale," adds Raina who was reluctant of taking up the role initially. On asking the actor what his biggest fear is, he jokes with Rangmunch that it would be losing all his hair, though that may turn out to be a blessing in disguise for the Production people as it would save time.

If you were to meet her outside, she would remind you of a barbie doll.Narayani Shastri who plays a dancer and wears a cotton sari with minimal eye makeup. "Though my looks are simple, it takes me around 45 minutes to get done. In the serial, my background is shown to be modest, so naturally the producers have gone low-key on my makeup. Only my eyes are highlighted to make them look prominent," Narayani tells us.

Character: Goddess Parvati

Portraying Goddess Parvati is no easy feat for Sonarika as it takes her about one and a half hours to get the right look. "My sari needs to be draped in a different manner and as it is not a pre-stitched one, so it takes quite a while to drape it right." But equally tough for the actress is removing the entire get-up. "I just wait to get rid of the heavy wig. As soon as the final shot is over, I take it off immediately while still on the sets. As for the makeup, I remove it on my way back home."

Character: Sandhya Rathi
Serial: Diya Aur Bati Hum

As the lead in the serial Deepika is always the centre of everybody's attention. Her staple attire is a bandhani or leheriya printed sari with heavy zari work and a lot of ethnic jewellery. She also dons a ghunghat which is firmly placed on her head all the time. She wears a maang tikka for special occasions. "Wearing the sari hardly takes any time, but to get a consistent look with the makeup and hair is challenging. I reach the sets around 8.15 in the morning and by 8.45 I am done. I think the proficient skills of my makeup artist make it so easy," Deepika says.

Serial: Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai

Her simple look as a newly wed housewife Jeevika in her show reflects the minimal time Krystal takes to get into her character's skin. "I mostly wear anarkali suits or bright colour chiffon saris in the serial which can be draped within minutes. Thankfully, I don't have to wear thick kajal or eye-liner and my hair is naturally long and straight which suits the character well. A dab of foundation, mascara and blush on and I am set to play Jeevika," quips the actor.
